Description

When most people think of behavioral therapy for Tourette Syndrome (TS), they often focus solely on tic management or the idea that tics need to be changed. The goal of this presentation is to highlight other ways behavioral therapy principals can help improve daily life. Based on the lived experience of Min, a young adult with TS and OCD, the session explores how therapy has provided tools beyond competing responses, including applying three key principles to everyday life: self-awareness, tic management, and environmental modification. Min refers to these strategies as “Min-proofing,” a personalized approach to navigating challenges and enhancing quality of life.
